EDC Orlando – Day 3

“Welcome Home Headliners” from last night’s drone show.
It was Day 3 of Electric Daisy Carnival – Orlando.
The entry lines never got too long. They had a very efficient system of getting everyone through.
Since it was adjacent the entry gates, we began our Sunday at the neonGARDEN stage.
A handful of like-minded people did the same.
Opening set from Toronto-based DJ Zorza (CDN).
Her set a mix of House and Techno.
Directly across, the kineticFIELD main stage.
Opening set from DJ Jake Silva (USA).
Thought we had seen him somewhere previously but couldn’t find a record of it. He played a mix of House and EDM.
Lots of capacity remaining over at stereoBLOOM.
DJ Luccio (USA) delivering both vocal and nonvocal Trance.
Whenever there’s a Trance show in Orlando, you can count on this Miami-based DJ to be a part of it.
Made-up of shipping containers, this wall serves as a sound barrier between the stereoBLOOM and circuitGROUNDS stages.
A few had arrived for the opening set here.
Chicago-based DJ Align (USA) playing House.
The circuitGROUNDS stage was primarily Dubstep/Heavy Bass during the first two days of EDC but went mostly House and EDM for Day 3.
EDC‘s version of the Dubai “Frame” building.
Back to the mainstage!
First time seeing DJ Xandra (USA).
Her set too was mostly EDM.
A crowd was slowly building.
It would get packed for later sets by Illenium (USA) and Galantis (S).
People always ask what’s the difference between GA tickets and GA+ tickets. The main difference is when you need to use the loo, GA gets port-o-potties.
While GA+ gets air conditioned trailers!
It was soon 2PM and time for a visit to Casa Bacardi.
Facing the rear lawn of the building, the opening DJ was on duty.
California-based DJ Fredy Fresco (USA) was playing House and Latin House.
Not that many up here yet but later in the day there was a half-hour queue to get upstairs.
You can never go wrong with Go Go girls.
There’s no ladder. They have to be able to physically climb that flexible pole to get up there!
The stereoBLOOM stage would go Trance all day Sunday.
And the crowd was building for these first Trance sets of the festival.
Chicago-based DJ Miyuki (USA).
She opened with some Hard Trance but then migrated over to more Uplifting Trance.
People standing in the shade wherever they could find some.
The circuitGROUNDS stage is kind of the alternate main stage.
DJ Mary Droppinz (USA) “dropping” a mostly House set.
View from VIP.
She had played a Breaks set this past December at Iron Cow.
Absolutely stunning at night but really beautiful by day too.
DJ Space 92 (F)
His set a mix of House, EDM and even Techno-sounding at times.
Thank you to everyone for your poses!!
Returning to the GARDEN.
An absolutely fascinating set from this guy.
DJ Charlie Sparks (GB)
He would mix DnB, Trance, Psytrance, Acid House, Hard Dance…..it was hard to keep up!
We slowly approached back to kineticFIELD because it was getting noticeably more crowded.
And the first big name of the day was playing.
DJ Cedric Gervais (F)
We don’t recall him playing at EDC-Orlando since 2013 when he also played on the kineticFIELD stage. Back in those days the kF stage was the one adjacent the stadium in Tinker Field but the stages got so large they had to move it over here.
No surprises here…..mostly EDM.
Casa Bacardi has existed at EDC for a few years now but this is the first year they had DJ’s. It’s a brilliant marketing move on their part and you can see how popular it is.
Back on the decks, Miami-based DJ Edgar V (USA).
He had played Friday over on the stereoBLOOM stage.
Edgar V had the crowd bouncing.
Actually, they were going crazy down there for his House/Latin House set!
As the sun set and the lights came on, stereoBLOOM was looking impressive.
First time ever seeing Montreal-based DJ TDJ (CDN).
Lots of vocal Trance had the crowd swaying.
Another visit to the neonGARDEN.
A fascinating fast-paced set from Berlin-based DJ Patrick Mason (D). He’s super-energetic with his hand motions, body motions, mouth motions, dance motions! So impressive!
A Techno version of the old 2 Live Crew (USA) song “Face Down Ass Up, That’s The Way We Love To Fuck” had him dry humping the monitors next to him!
Patrick Mason was the first of three DJ’s in-a-row from Techno capital Berlin playing on this stage. He would be followed by DJ Klangkuenstler (D) and DJ Kobosil (D).
It was already 5:30PM and circuitGROUNDS was completely mobbed.
And daytime was turning into nighttime.
DJ Alesso (S) doing his sunset set.
An all-EDM set which included his own bangers such as “Heroes” and “If I Lose Myself” along with other’s songs such as the classic “Sandstorm”.
He was throwing down fire!
Alesso had played locally at Gilt Concert Venue back in 2021.
His set was like listening to Sirius/XM channel 52 “BPM“.
Mi casa, su casa!
DJ Eran Hersh (IL)
House and Latin House, of course.
Dancing upstairs!
Dancing downstairs! This was such a fun stage.
And it got really jammed.
At this point we took our union-mandated dinner break and then decided we’d had enough. Sets by Cosmic Gate (D), ATB (D) and John Summit (USA) would be missed. A lot of people were saying this was the best EDC-Orlando yet and it may well have been. What’s next? A $400M renovation of Camping World Stadium will begin sometime next year which could impact Tinker Field. The goal is to have that project finished by 2027 so that the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League could possibly play their 2027 season here during their stadium rebuild that year. We’ve heard rumors about EDC-Orlando relocating to Daytona Beach either next year or in two years. Update: Insomniac is now advertising EDC as happening in 2025 here at Tinker Field, so that’s great news. LINK We’ll keep you updated on any additional news. At EDC-Orlando this past weekend, a good time was had by all.
