Club Reports: Hemisphere Dancer, Bubbles Up Lounge, Flip Flop Bar (MAS Islander), Alberto’s Bar, Señor Frog’s (Cozumel) By King Bob in Club Reports December 7, 2024 By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we’re on. We’re currently sailing on Margaritaville at Sea Islander and we’re pictured docked at Cozumel here adjacent Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas. Our last article included our ship’s disco and last night we visited several other venues on board. Last night we began at Hemisphere Dancer on Deck 2 aft. It’s actually adjacent the disco. There’s a small stage in the corner and the band we saw on Day 1 of the cruise was performing. Blaze Band (RP/ZA) with the Filipina vocalist and bandmates all from South Africa. This is the ship’s craft cocktail bar but we were able to get my signature Tito’s and Tonic too. They were playing a medley of old 60’s & 70’s hits. One deck higher, Deck 3 aft, is the Bubbles Up Lounge. This is the ship’s piano bar. Pianist/Vocalist Angelica (USA) was on the keys. Patrons were encouraged to sing-along to tunes such as “Sweet Caroline” and “Margaritaville”. The action last night though was at Flip Flop Bar in the ship’s atrium on Deck 2. A Fleetwood Mac (GB) tribute was being performed by duo David & Stephanie (USA). The bar and atrium seating areas were jammed. They do a good job recreating Fleetwood Mac’s distinctive sound. During the break in their set, we heard music from DJ Christian (CO). The ship’s Fins Up crew joined the fun on the dance floor. Cruise ship classics: “Cupid Shuffle” “Cha Cha Slide” “The Wobble” “Macarena” & “Thriller” dances. The ship’s Cruise Director Zee-Jay (AUS) joined the fun. A good time was had by all. Earlier in the day when wandering around Cozumel we passed Alberto’s Bar & Club. Where a break dance competition was in progress on that stone floor. Ouch! There’s at least two Señor Frog’s in Cozumel including this one inside the International Pier complex. Here we found DJ Calderon (MEX) on the decks playing party music. Place was packed but unfortunately we had just missed the latest set of drinking games that Señor Frog’s is famous for, especially here in Mexico. As you probably know, a branch of Señor Frog’s is located along International Drive in Orlando. Outside nearby, a mariachi band was playing traditional Ranchera tunes associated with Mexico. Both on and off the ship yesterday, a good time was had by all. Social:TwitterFacebookEmailLinkedInRedditTumblrPinterestWhatsAppPocketTelegramLike this:Like Loading...
