At the corner of Pine at Magnolia, the fairly long-running Shots Orlando is no more. We had noticed the sign missing a few weeks ago so we had to go check it out.The replacement is called ELEVATED ORL. There’s no actual sign yet.In the far corner booth we found DJ Matty Ice (USA) playing Hip Hop.It was early so not many patrons just yet. We commented to our bartendress that the place looks exactly like it did under the Shots name with the same music format and she said that renovations are planned for after NYE. In the meantime, there are two bars on the main level and another bar upstairs.Next we made the trek up to north suburban Sanford where there is a downtown with more and more nightlife options taking place. One such place is The Capital Room.There are two rooms at The Capital Room. You’ll find the bar in the front room, home to craft cocktails.And in the back room, we walked into this!We had just missed the opener DJ Johnny Park but found DJ Mike Presley (USA) playing when we first arrived.Breaks were the order of the evening at this monthly event.He was joined here by DJ Tooltime (USA) who would play the 1AM set last night.Dance floor kept getting more and more crowded.Those looks you get from great Breaks!Spotted: Last night’s opener, DJ Johnny Park (USA) with Dolly. There were so many people here last night from the Orlando Breakbeat scene!After an arm wrestling match to see who would go next…..DJ Losman (USA) would play the midnight set.As animated as ever. He opened with a Breaks mashup of classic “Beachball“.Dance floor got even more jammed! The next Breaks events here at the Capital Room will be on January 18th, an all-vinyl show ft. DJ Eric Berrretta (USA) followed by February 1st ft. Breakbeat legends the NLP DJ group! And this hasn’t been announced yet but for Valentines Day weekend, February 15th, an all-female DJ lineup that will include DJ Gruvgirl (USA), DJ Lovelee (GB/USA), DJ ZZ (USA) and more! The SHADE name is Florida’s leading brand of Techno and last night they were having their last party of the year at Iron Cow in Orlando’s Milk District. So that was our next stop.We walked into this!DJ Alejandro (USA) was still playing when we first arrived.He had the music booming!Those looks you get from great Techno!Dance floor was jammed!We saw a few people we know from the local Techno scene.The bar stayed busy too.Shift change at 1AM. You mix DJ Elias R (USA)…..With SHADE head honcho DJ Carlos Mendoza (USA)…..And you get an amazing b2b set from the two of them!Both are EDC-Orlando veterans! Carlos Mendoza opened the kineticFIELD main stage at EDC in 2023.While Elias R performed on the Rynobus Art Car stage at EDC in 2021.Both played music with a surprising amount of vocals in them last night. It was 1:30AM but no one was leaving just yet!A good time was had by all.
