Club Reports: London House, Palm Tree Club, Shark Bar, Sports & Social, Iron Cow By King Bob in Club Reports January 12, 2025 Saturday night in the city and we had a lot of ground to cover so let’s get started. We began the night in the Bond Room at London House. Located near “Restaurant Row” along Sand Lake Road, this is a members only club although members can invite guests so we’re thankful for the invite. The bar was pretty jammed last night. The dance floor was not. They had had a packed “Après-Ski” party here on Friday night so it made sense not very many here the next evening. Bond Room resident DJ Chymera (USA) was in the booth playing mostly EDM hits. They say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls. Activity was slowly picking-up but we needed to be moving on. Next stop was at Live! at the Pointe and new venue Palm Tree Club. It’s a pretty large club and we walked into this. Resident DJ Sheen Boogie (USA) was in the booth playing House and EDM. While Palm Tree Club is mostly covered, the windows don’t have glass in them so you’ll see a lot of jackets as the chilly breeze blows through. This is the club owned by DJ Kygo (N). Admission is free unless a big name DJ is playing. And as you can see, although only open for a few months, it’s already become popular. DJ duo Forester (USA) plays here next Friday January 17th, Vandelux (CDN) will be doing a DJ set here on February 21st and DJ Regard (RKS) plays here on March 8th. Advance tickets here. We also checked out the new Shark Bar. We walked into this. The DJ booth is located on the far side of the room. We found DJ Troy (USA) in the booth playing mostly Top 40. DJ Troy was the resident DJ at Chillers downtown until their recent shuttering. Shark Bar has two inside bars and an outside bar as well. Good crowd. They have a large shiny disco ball so you know the place is legit. This place has caught on as well. We also stopped by Sports & Social since we were already here. This is primarily a restaurant and sports bar with this huge monitor located behind the main bar. You’ll typically find sports telecasts up there but with no big games last night, the TV sound was hushed and instead music was playing. That music, mostly Top 40, delivered from the booth by DJ Tony Z (USA). Spotted here with one of the hostesses. Pointe Orlando has a paid parking garage but the purchase of any drink or food item from any of the Live! venues gets your parking validated for free. We next headed to Orlando’s Milk District, home to the Iron Cow. If it seems like we come here quite often, it’s probably because we do. They have so many great events here. We walked into this. We kind of rushed here at high speeds in order to catch the end of the midnight set from this guy….. DJ Tony Faline (USA) His mostly Breaks set was crushing it! And we had not seen Tony Faline since he played at Suite B Lounge back in 2014 as shown in this OEN archives photograph! Wow! Dance floor remained jammed as his set ended. They say you can never go wrong with Go Go girls. Well damn, they were right! Shift change at 1AM. DJ Mark Sanchez (USA) He would continue with the Breaks & Bass theme of the night. Mark Sanchez was formerly the NYE resident DJ at EPCOT: Italy where his House/EDM shows would bring many newcomers into the electronic music scene. Last night, no newcomers, lol. No one leaving just yet! We ran into so many peeps from the scene. Spotted in VIP: DJ Tooltime (USA) Spotted backstage: Tooltime with World Famous Shawn Fenn. Tooltime with friend Barry. Orlando-based DJ Tooltime on the far left and Dallas-based DJ Delicious Groove (USA) on the far right had both played earlier. Spotted here with DJ Tony Faline and DJ Gumbee (USA). When you ask but the DJ don’t play your Request. But a good time was had by Frank. And a good time was had by all.
