Just driving by on north Orange Avenue, one would not know there’s a small night club in there.Located in Orlando’s uptown area, Oliv Bar.We walked into this.DJ Kris Kokopelli (USA) was in the booth when we arrived.Breaks were the order of the evening here at Oliv Bar.This was just our fourth visit to this newer club and it’s been jammed each time.Coming up next, DJ Amber Jane (USA).She was SO animated last night.Hair Stylist by day, DJ by night.Her set had the dance floor bouncing.This is a small room so it’s not hard to look crowded. But it was crowded.Even one of the next DJ’s was out there dancing!Pointing to her favorite DJ.Oliv Bar has a full liquor bar, staffed last night by resident bartendress Amber.We saw quite a few peeps from the scene. Up next, a back-to-back set from DJ Menges (USA) and DJ Genesis (USA). We had seen DJ Genesis previously at The Hammered Lamb but this is the first time seeing Menges.Getting excited during a Breaks remix of Fragma (D) hit “Toca’s Miracle”. A good time was had by all.Immediately next door in the same building is Los Tres Golpes, primarily a Latin/Dominican restaurant. Inside, Latin music was playing. But when you went into their alcove behind the restaurant, that’s where the party was! Here we found DJ Freeda Sol (USA) on the turntables.Mostly House music was the order of the evening in Los Tres Golpes. Always love Freeda Sol when she wears her super flares!She had a contingent on her dance floor.Close to 11PM and the next DJ was getting ready to take over.DJ Berto (USA)You know it’s a good set when the DJ is bouncing to his own music!We had to check the OEN archives to find out we haven’t seen DJ Berto play since last March at the “The Get Down” in Miami during Miami Music Week.More peeps!DJ Frankmatik (USA) has two big events upcoming on the final weekend of January. The first is an afternoon/evening affair on Saturday, January 25th at the Altira Pool atop the Grand Bohemian Hotel, a downtown Marriott property. That runs from 2:30PM – 8:30PM and features DJ Atnarko (USA). The next day on Sunday, January 26th at Grape & The Grain in the Mills/50 District, DJ Sneakypete (USA) is featured on a show that begins at 4PM and runs until 11PM.Time for one more stop, this time downtown. The Robinson. After getting wanded, we headed upstairs.You arrive into a room with this busy bar.But the fun takes place in the adjoining “Disco Room”.Where we walked into this.DJ Chino (USA) in the perch playing a mostly EDM set during our visit.Chino had just played on NYE at Red Coconut Club in Universal CityWalk. We saw the pictures and it was bedlam in there!Last night songs like “Rhyme Dust”, “Drugs From Amsterdam” and “Do It To It” kept the floor bouncing.Party in VIP!The Robinson has shiny disco balls all over the club so you know the place is legit.Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.
